I’ve lost three AirPods to washing machines. I’ve sat on two pairs of Sony earbuds. I’ve rage-quit one pair of cheap Ankers that kept disconnecting. I know earbuds.

But they’re $249. And the battery degrades after about two years. That’s the Apple tax, and it’s real.

Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro finally caught up. The sound profile is more customizable, the fit is more secure for workouts, and the battery life edges out AirPods. The noise cancellation is 90% as good. If you’re on Android, there’s no reason to buy AirPods.
The new “Adaptive ANC” adjusts based on your environment automatically. Walking from a quiet office to a busy street? It ramps up without you touching anything. It’s subtle but genuinely useful.
The Travel Essential
For long flights, Sony WF-1000XM6 are unbeatable. The noise cancellation is so good it’s almost unsettling — you can’t hear the plane engine at all. The sound quality is audiophile-grade. And the battery lasts 8 hours with ANC on, 12 without.
The case is bulky though. Not pocket-friendly. I keep these in my carry-on and use something smaller for daily use. They’re specialized tools, not everyday carry.
The Budget Surprise
SoundPEATS Capsule 3 Pro cost $49. I expected garbage. I got 80% of the AirPods experience. Decent ANC, good sound, reliable connection. The microphone is mediocre for calls, but for music and podcasts? Totally fine. If you lose earbuds constantly (guilty), buy three pairs of these instead of one expensive set.
What Actually Matters
Fit is everything. The best-sounding earbuds in the world are useless if they fall out. Try different tip sizes. Consider foam tips if silicone doesn’t seal well. And for travel, prioritize battery life and ANC over sound quality — you’ll thank yourself on a 6-hour flight.
